Summary
Having originated in Japan and the US, there is a worldwide trend toward hybrid vehicles with gasoline engine. In Europe, the diesel engine is gaining ground all the time as a means for powering vehicles. Both technologies represent flexible and efficient vehicle drives and are distinguished by low consumption. Seen in the context of a further necessary reduction in CO2, combining diesel and hybrid provides a technically interesting option as long as it can be put into practice cost-effectively. To do this, further technical innovations will be necessary to bring down system costs. In the field of tension between driving fun, fuel consumption, exhaust-gas emissions and costs, it will also probably be possible to produce optimized passenger-car diesel hybrid concepts without complex measures of active DeNOxification.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
