Summary
Next generation Battery Electrified Vehicles (BEV) will include 800 V electric motors. This BEV Market expanding into premium segments, higher power, higher energy and high power charging system are a necessity. In this field 800 V systems become the reference for such high performances powertrains.
Concurrently, performances within strict vehicle packaging constraints lead to high torque and high power density 800 V electric machines, to limit the powertrain weight. This paper will first describe different key criteria to assess and compare Torque and/or Power density indexes.
