Summary
The Multi-Mode Hybrid Transmission combines the advantages of electromobility, offering high electric drive shares and a quiet, direct driving experience, with the range and flexibility of the internal combustion engine. This creates a future-proof drivetrain that meets individual
mobility needs and supports sustainable transportation. Designed in a P1-P3 architecture for front-transverse applications, it operates in three modes. Pure electric mode provides emission-free, quiet driving ideal for urban areas. In serial mode, the combustion engine powers a generator supplying electricity to the traction motor, enabling optimal engine efficiency. Parallel mode mechanically connects the engine to the wheels for efficient longdistance and high-speed driving. With modular power electronics operable with or without a DC/DC-Booster, the system supports various hybrid platforms, including Full Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid, and Range-Extended Electric Vehicles.
