Summary

In public awareness, individual mobility is undergoing a rapid change from the use of fossil fuels to purely electric propulsion. To offer increased customer benefits at a competitive price, smart solutions in the design of lithium-ion batteries are required. This publication explains the cost reduction potential via function integration for three different components of a battery module. By applying this method, Robert Bosch Battery Systems could reduce the costs for battery modules by 90% with a simultaneous increase in the available functional range of the relevant parts.
