Summary
The electrification of the drive trains in vehicles has started and is unstoppable. For 2020 there are a lot of new electrified vehicles from well-known OEMs and newcomers announced to enter the market. The majority of the currently available and in near future coming hybrid and pure electrical drivetrains are equipped with state-of-the-art systems. Permanent magnet synchro machines with speeds between 12,000 rpm and 16,000 rpm are dominating.
Sustainable mobility requires constant further development of current available components to save limited and expensive resources in the future.
