Summary

Since the complexity of vehicle system, it has a broad and comprehensive scope in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). In this study, a modular LCA approach was applied to evaluate the environmental performance of Hyundai Motor's Electric vehicle (EV). Focusing on the global warming impact category, the contribution of Well to Wheel (WTW) stage and pre-manufacturing stage represents 58.4 % and 38.8 % in EU, respectively. In the WTW stage, electricity usage and driving cycles were confirmed as a key. This study can be used to develop environmental strategies for responding to CO2 regulation toward carbon neutrality in the future and promote the resource circulation.
