Summary
To fulfill the future demand to reduce CO2 emissions of passenger cars new drive-train configurations are necessary. Especially for mega-city applications highly electrified powertrains will not be an incremental optimization step but will be based on a high level of integration of mechatronic systems such as internal combustion engine (ICE), transmission, electric machine(s), power electronics (PE) and energy storage (battery). Focus however lies on their intelligent vehicle integration and the electronic control which merges these elements for maximum customer benefit.
