Summary
In the chassis development, the consideration and objectification of rollover stability can be classified in two aspects: virtual analysis with simulation methods in the early phase and experimental tests with prototypes as well as pre-series vehicles in the late phase. In order to integrate the customer-relevant rollover maneuvers with the simulation methods in the entire development process, this paper focuses firstly on the summarization of the rollover critical test maneuvers and their application scenarios. Subsequently, a novel method to analyze the rollover stability in the nonlinear range of driving dynamics is introduced. Afterwards, the integration of simulation and driving tests can be carried out. At last, the vehicle loadings as influence parameters for rollover are discussed utilizing the presented analysis method.
