Summary
This paper describes the technologies applied on the inverter in the Nissan LEAF e+ launched in 2019. The maximum power of the electric motor increases over 40 % up without any modification of the electric motor. The torque also increases to 340 Nm from 320 Nm by the improvement of the maximum inverter current. In addition, the detection accuracy of the inverter power module temperature has improved, thereby enhancing a capability of the vehicle stopping on a steep grade by electric motor torque while ensuring the same temperature protection for inverter parts as before.
