Summary

Based on legal requirements and climate protection fuel, efficient vehicles are becoming more and more important. Torque converter and dual clutch transmissions are playing a central role for two main reasons: On the one hand, engineers succeeded in optimizing the start up element, arranging the gear sets in an intelligent way, increasing the spread and amount of gears in transmission systems which consume a fraction more fuel in the legal cycle and during every day driving compared to the manual transmission.
