Summary
With more than a dozen Lidar startups in the past five years and a cumulated invested venture capital of nearly half a billion dollars, automotive grade Lidar is at the eve of a breakthrough. The holy grail is a compact, low-cost, solid-state – preferably semiconductor scalable – Lidar capable of detecting moving objects to at least 200 meters. This paper explains how XenomatiX’ XenoLidar successfully complies with these requirements by operating at the edge of the physical limits, using mass producible semiconductor technology.
