Summary

Since Rudolf Diesel started his work on the World’s first Diesel engine in 1893, large engines have been developed and produced in Augsburg - for a full range of applications and always tailored to the needs of the customer. Today, MAN Diesel engines occupy a world-leading position and propel 50 percent of all World trade at sea. These market successes are based on the achievement of the most important development criteria for large engines: Operating economy, Reduction of noxious emissions, Resources and Safety and reliability
