Summary

Reducing vehicle fuel consumption while respecting pollutants emission standards has been a major concern over the last decade in the automotive industry. Vehicle hybridization and the Euro 7 emission standard are the next challenge. System simulation is now a major enabler in facilitating vehicle design. It allows to study vehicle behavior on different operating conditions, taking into account vehicle subsystem’s influence, including the thermal engine, the electric motors, the battery, the emission control systems and the control of these elements. Preparing for the future Euro 7 standard implies accurate engine-out and tailpipe emission models including during transient operating conditions and on short urban....
