Summary
The Schaeffler Mover is a new urban vehicle concept with the intention to concentrate all technical systems and components in the vehicle. All systems and components are chosen to operate in an urban area. Furthermore, these components are located in the vehicle platform and the vehicle cabins can be chosen according to the vehicle requirements. At the same time the essential systems are placed in the corners of the vehicle platform and the auxiliary components can be arranged in a flexible way in the platform. This enables a flexible adaptation of the platform in length or width. To enable a maximum maneuverability, the platform is equipped with a 90°-steering system, and high-voltage wheel hub drives, which allows the vehicle usage even in smallest urban streets. New vehicle driving functionalities are possible due to the independent corner modules. The entire vehicle is operating on a complete x-by-wire architecture which enables the integration of autonomous driving functionality in a later phase.
