Zusammenfassung

Active Driver Assist (ADA) is a new Ford feature that is intended to provide the customer a “best in class" SAE Level 2 driving experience. A SAE level 2 driver assist feature is defined as simultaneous automated lateral and longitudinal control, where the driver is still responsible for the “dynamic driving task", a concept that SAE has defined as “all the real-time operational and tactile functions required to operate a vehicle in on-road traffic (1)." Provided that the necessary conditions are met, ADA will allow the driver to remove their hands from the steering wheel while driving. An important condition that is necessary for hands free driving to be allowed is that the driver continues to monitor the environment around them and remains ready to intervene should the situation necessitate it. If conditions do not allow for hands-free operation, then hands-on Level 2 automation may still be offered.
