Zusammenfassung

Trends such as autonomous driving, non-driving related activities and digitalization, as well as the resulting influence on user behaviour are strongly contributing to a revolution in vehicle concept design. An aspect of this is the consideration of user needs in the form of use cases as a source from which vehicle requirements can be derived. This article presents a matrix-based methodology, named MatchMatrix, that enables the systematic coupling of user requirements to vehicle functions and modules, ensuring user needs are addressed in vehicle concepts. With the support of a program, optimal function/module combinations, needed to fulfil all the considered requirements can be determined. The results describe the essential vehicle functions and modules, to be applied by concept designers, to draft tailored, user-orientated concepts.
