eWheel2Car - ein aufwandsarm nachrüstbarer Radnabenantrieb für PKW

Zusammenfassung
This contribution deals with the topic of the consistent further development of a wheel hub motor based on the principle of an outer rotor Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) with the aim of low-cost retro-fitting cars to PHEVs. The SRM does not require magnets for torque production which leads to independence from the changeable commodity prices on the rare earth element market. The presented gearless machine is fully integrated into the given space between the original rear friction brake and the rim without changing the original braking system and the wheel suspension. Because of that high machine integration space inside the car is only needed for a small battery and power-electronic with its controlling system. To reduce costs and increase safety the presented drive train concept is a low voltage system.
