Summary

Hyundai-Kia is planning to launch the next generation Smartstream V6 3.5L turbocharged gasoline engine. This new V6 engine has been developed to maximize the thermal efficiency of combustion engine as well as to accurately correspond to all variants of electrification. Based on this concept, a twin turbo charged V6 engine has been designed innovatively and adopted leading technology. Central mounted gasoline direct injectors integrated with port fuel injectors are applied to meet the stringent particulate number emission regulation and to maximize fuel efficiency without compromising of maximum torque and power. Newly introduced integrated thermal management system and various friction reduction system contribute to additional fuel efficiency improvement for next generation Genesis vehicle.
