Summary

Hybridization is needed for reducing CO2 emissions but is associated to enormous investment and high product costs. A system approach integrating simplified dedicated transmissions and engines into a dedicated hybrid powertrain (DHP) can reduce system costs while improving cost-to-CO2 ratio and creating additional customer benefit.
