Summary

To achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, Geely Holding Group has established four distinct technological paths for new energy solutions. This report highlights Geely’s advancements in green, low-carbon methanol technology, with a focus on reducing CO₂ emissions from heavy-duty trucks. Geely has successfully developed and industrialized a process to convert carbon dioxide into methanol. The report also covers fundamental research on methanol combustion characteristics, the current status of methanol engines for heavy-duty trucks, technical approaches to the engine design and development, and the latest applications of methanol-powered electric heavy-duty trucks. In methanol production, Geely adheres to a green, low-carbon technical approach. The report outlines key technologies, recent achievements, and large-scale applications in this area. Additionally, in collaboration with its partners, Geely has established a comprehensive green methanol ecosystem—including CO₂ capture, methanol synthesis, transportation, refueling infrastructure, and methanol-powered vehicles to promote a sustainable methanol economy. Geely’s diversified strategy is driving the transition to cleaner energy, advancing low-carbon sustainability, and contributing to the global pursuit of carbon neutrality.
