Summary
The main Automotive Passenger car Industry challenge for the next decade is the CO2 emission reduction. The EU regulations are reducing the target limit starting from 2020. Furthermore in case of exceeding the EU target limit economic sanctions are set down.
Moreover the handling behavior is a prime vehicles aspect reaching high levels of lateral acceleration ensuring good stability and controllability. Today the latest technologies, autonomous driving, ADAS and Hybrid require a good behavior of the base car. Therefore with the upcoming regulations, the tire, transducer of the interaction vehicle/ground, must achieve a new trade-off between Driving Dynamics and Rolling Resistance.
