Summary
Nowadays more and more vehicles are equipped with torque-vectoring-systems in order to improve driving dynamics. However, these systems are not only capable of increasing the vehicle's agility, but they are also able to destabilize the vehicle in case of malfunction. Therefore these systems have to be monitored by a safety function. This paper presents the development of such a safety function to ensure a safe driving behavior and to fulfill the demands of ISO 26262. This is done without restricting the functionality of the torque-vectoring-systems. The example given in this paper is introduced in the quattro with e-tron technology.
