Zusammenfassung

The world of hybrid drivetrain is changing.

Electrification is obviously a needed asset in any Powertrain line-up to reduce CO2 emission and achieve CAFE compliance. If the choice of a car is only rational, in a world where the choice of a car would be only rational, this could work. But to become sustainable in our world, these electrified powertrains must respect customer expectation regarding driving pleasure, performances and, naturally, cost. In fact, they must create customer desire.

To take that challenge, Renault-Nissan Alliance has developed a new dedicated hybrid transmission for its bestselling models: New Clio E-TECH and New Captur E-TECH Plug-In. Confirming its versatile character, Renault Captur E-TECH plug-in will be a world premiere among B-segment vehicles.

Providing EV-like fun to drive has been a key goal for the development. To achieve high responsiveness, vehicle take-off is operated in pure electric mode in any conditions.

The new multi-mode DHT has been designed to be continually suited to the driver’s request with optimum efficiency. Constraints on battery sizing due to vehicle architecture made this efficiency as priority to achieve a real daily autonomy range. Right combination of electric motors and ICE gives more dynamism during sharp acceleration.

Development of the transmission was strongly focused on compact design to fit with B-segment vehicle and friction reduction to enhance drivetrain overall efficiency. A new gear shifting process is one of its key features.

Renault-Nissan Alliance approach has been to implement EV engineering experience and assets in this drivetrain designed for hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

This presentation will give more light on specific features of E-TECH Plug-in. Renault-Nissan Alliance has taken benefit from its know-how in EV drivetrain design and tuning to provide the best EV experience in pure electric mode.
