Zusammenfassung
In the project "UNICARagil", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the leading German universities in the field of automated driving have joined with selected specialists from industry to rethink automated vehicles and their architecture. An essential component in this project is the so-called dynamics or corner module.
In this module, the functions accelerating, braking and steering are combined and controlled via an assigned control unit. For that, a 48 V wheel hub motor and a perimeter brake are packaged into a custom designed wheel. The wheel in turn is connected to the vehicle by a double wishbone suspension with an integrated 48 V steering actuator. This paper gives an overview of the dimensioning and design of the individual components and the connection to a complete system.
