Zusammenfassung
The SKYACTIV-X is a gasoline engine developed in the second step of Mazda's quest for the ideal internal combustion engine. Of seven control factors of an internal combustion engine, a compression ratio and a specific heat ratio determine the thermal efficiency of an Otto cycle, and these factors have been increased to the effective levels, aiming for controllable compression ignition combustion. Thanks to Mazda's proprietary Spark Controlled Compression Ignition, which enables stable control of combustion timing by combining the mixture formation through split injections at high flow fields and spark ignition, combined with an air-supply system, the SKYACTIV-X has achieved an excellent balance of the superior environmental performance, power output and dynamic performance.
