Zusammenfassung

The WLTP cycle poses challenges for test execution and documentation. Wind tunnel operators adopting WLTP are facing new organizational, technical, and documentation tasks. Introducing WLTP increases the number of tests significantly. More complex regulatory requirements have to be obeyed in test planning and execution as well as in managing results and handling data analysis. Supporting the underlying business processes in test departments for validation and verification becomes more important.
These challenges may be new to wind tunnel operators. They may also involve specific aspects stemming from the WLTP cycle. In general, though, such scenarios are commonly known in industry as testing in areas of applications with regulatory requirements. As such, there are common approaches to tackle such challenges with workflows and guidelines of operation. Their implementation to a significant extent can be supported by software solutions, which ease the daily work of all stakeholders, allow for more efficient and reliable processes, and provides users with a better experience.
The following section breaks down the challenges of WLTP-compliant tests in aerodynamics.
The sections thereafter explain how these challenges in planning and scheduling, test execution and analysis, reporting and data management can be handled in general, and how integrated software solutions can help.
