Zusammenfassung
GKN as TIER 1 system supplier currently develops an all new e-Drive module for a global hybrid electric vehicle platform which will launch in 2019. The system combines a semi-integrated transmission with a coaxial planetary gear set and an induction e-machine. The planetary transmission uses stepped planets to achieve the required ratio and a passive lubrication concept. A disconnect function is not required as the electric drive module is able to operate up to the maximum vehicle speed when it is driven by the internal combustion engine.
The GKN e-Drive module provides optimised system efficiency and performance at minimized complexity and thereby sets new standards, which maximise the customer benefit and differentiate it from the existing units on the market. The system
engineering capabilities like simulation, verification and validation, laboratory support which GKN has got in house for all system elements were the enabler to provide solutions to the many technical challenges encountered during the development of this unit. The following paragraphs will show some of the key aspects.
