Upcoming future regulations for EUVII will require a significant reduction of NOx emissions at the tailpipe of heavy-duty Diesel engines. Achieving such demands will not only require a considerable improvement of the efficiency of the selective catalytic reduction (SCR), but also optimal performance under a majority of operating conditions. This, however, must not be at the expense of the overall fuel consumption, to limit CO2-emissions and to achieve a beneficial total cost of ownership (TCO). Such goals can only be achieved by a mix of different measures and require ample improvements to the current configuration of the EUVI aftertreatment system.
