Zusammenfassung
Volvo Cars has updated the Volvo Environmental Architecture (VEA) platform with one new diesel (Volvo Engine Diesel, VED) and two new petrol engines (Volvo Engine Petrol, VEP).
The new Generation 3 (Gen 3) platform further enhances Volvo Cars direction towards electrification by using a common 48V belt integrated starter and generator (B-ISG) for all engines. The 48V architecture together with improved gas exchange provides excellent
take-off performance.
The VED engine delivers 173 kW, 480 Nm @ 1750 rpm, the VEP High Performance (HP) 220 kW, 420 Nm @ 2100, and the VEP Medium Performance (MP) 184 kW, 350 Nm @ 1800 rpm.
The new engines deliver improved fuel efficiency and emissions for all driving conditions. NVH is improved by a new engine structure.
For the first time in the automotive history, there is a common high pressure fuel pump installation directly driven from crankshaft for both diesel and petrol engines, currently delivering up to 45 MPa for petrol and 250 MPa for diesel.
