Zusammenfassung
This manuscript gives an overview of the various communication possibilities within the HV battery, researched by Valmet Automotive. Alternatives to today’s wired data communication physical layer within the HV Battery architecture is presented based on optical, powerline and wireless transmission and highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each. As an experienced provider of automotive engineering, vehicle manufacturing, HV battery systems and convertible roofs Valmet Automotive is recognized in areas on xEV solutions, such as e-drive engineering, power electronics and control units. Valmet Automotive, along with its partner Dukosi, are working on opportunities for standardized optimal communication and data transfer from single cells to the Battery Management System (BMS) and compatibility with today’s & future xEV safety requirements. A new approach for individual cell monitoring with NFC (near field
communication) between the cell electronics and BMS Master-ECU is introduced and explained.
