Summary
A number of different technological paths are in discussion to transform fossil fuels into renewably produced energy sources. The composition and properties of the fuels produced at present are not predictable. The requirements for fuels for small hand-held devices with combustion engines pose a particular challenge. First, high quality alkylate fuels should continue to be used, and second, the lower demands compared to the transportation sector are less attractive for large-scale production. In this paper we show different combinations of potential synthetically produced components with special alkylate fuel and their properties in STIHL engines.
