Zusammenfassung
The fuel cell electric vehicle represents a promising alternative to the battery electric vehicle in the course of fleet electrification, but several challenges prevent a technology breakthrough in higher production volumes. Probably the most frequently cited reason is high production and operating costs, however there is also a non-negligible need for research in the area of thermal management. A predictive and heat-managed operating strategy can represent a promising solution approach. The aim of such a strategy is to identify thermally critical situations in advance and to initiate suitable countermeasures. This includes, for example, the generation of a power and/or heat buffer. These countermeasures help to maintain the desired vehicle performance and can also lead to smaller and less expensive thermal management systems.
