Zusammenfassung
We propose a multi-physics approach for minimising losses on the World Harmonized Light-duty Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) driving cycle and reducing the magnet material volume. For that, we developed an optimisation-based tool that combines electromagnetic and mechanical FEA models. From the electromagnetic study, the peak operation envelope is evaluated, as well as the overall motor energy consumption on the WLTP. The mechanical study evaluates the maximum stress on the rotor laminations. We apply the optimisation approach to a base double V barrier interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). From the pareto front of the solution space we compare the initial motor with the minimum lost energy solution, which results on the reduction of WLTP motor losses by 27.7% and the minimum magnet volume solution which results in a reduction of magnet material of 18.1% with minimal impact on motor performance.
