Zusammenfassung
In order to reduce the interaction complexity of the combination of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) available in today's cars, ZF and fka derived a concept to simplify driver-vehicle interaction. A central part of this concept is the integration of longitudinal and lateral safety-related functionality into a single assistance system. To support the driver's understanding of its functionality without referring to technical explanations, the system has been designed around the commonly known metaphor of magnetic repulsion. The idea that the car is repelled from obstacles is conveyed through the system state visualization, the parametrization options for the driver and the functionality itself. This concept has been implemented and evaluated in the ika high fidelity driving simulator.
