Zusammenfassung

Nissan has developed the world’s first variable compression ratio (VCR) engine, “VCTURBO”, for application to mass-produced vehicles. This engine makes effective use of the outstanding features of the multi-link type of crankshaft rotation mechanism
that was developed as the VCR system. In addition, it also benefits from the optimization of the link assembly of the compression ratio control actuator and the selection and development of a new reduction gear for the actuator.

This VCR engine delivers both fuel economy and power performance at unprecedentedly high levels as a result of executing a combustion design for enhancing performance, newly developing a fuel supply system and a turbocharger, and optimizing all of the performance characteristics.
