Zusammenfassung

Throughout the transition period to renewable energy power generation towards the
realization of carbon neutrality in 2050, it is necessary to reduce CO2 effectively from
well-to-wheel and LCA perspectives. To realize such reduction, it is important not only
to introduce EVs but also to improve the thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines
(ICEs) and save energy with the use of HEVs for regions which still depend on
thermal power generation. Also by promoting renewable fuels in near future, we can
envision a carbon neutral society where existing ICE vehicles and EV will coexist.
Mazda believes the realization of such society and has chosen the above-mentioned
multi-solution strategy.
