The Influence of Automated Driving on Tyre Requirements in the Future

Zusammenfassung
In recent years the automotive industry is going through a shift in Powertrain technology. The conventional internal combustion engine is being replaced by electrified propulsion. Recent publications state stricter emission regulations, lower battery costs, widely available charging stations, and increasing consumer acceptance will create new and strong momentum for penetration of electrified vehicles and autonomous vehicles in coming years. These technological shifts will bring more challenges for tyre industries to make tyres more fuel efficient, less noisy, smart tyre equipped with real time information sensing and communicating technologies.
