Kombinierte Emissionsminderung durch E-Fuels und verbesserte Abgasnachbehandlung mit der Catvap®-Technologie

Zusammenfassung
In this poster presentation a Well-to-Wheel analysis will be shown, offering an overview from fuel supply based on renewable electricity (Well-to-Tank) to vehicle efficiency (Tank-to-Wheel). The data is based on the project SynLink including Direct Air Capture, Co-Electrolysis for CO2 and H2O and longterm stacktests. The CO2 emission re-duction potential of different Fischer-Tropsch fuel pathways will be described as well as the fuel utilization in an internal combustion engine with and without diesel oxidation catalyst and particle filter. Furthermore, the CatVap® technology will be presented in terms of the integration in a state-of-the-art commercial vehicle exhaust pipe and secondary emission reduction potential in standard driving cycles. In cold start World Harmonized Transient Cycle tests fuel savings of approx. 66% could be achieved compared to conventional thermal management methods based on the control of the engine, called rapid heat up mode. Finally, thermal management methods and the CatVap® heat input were combined resulting in fastest exhaust aftertreatment heat up with highest nitrogen oxide reduction potential with ammonia through downstream selective catalytic reduction.
