Zusammenfassung

Cargo securing is essential to protect road users and the cargo from damage. It prevents possible load shifting - triggered by lateral, longitudinal and vertical accelerations - and tilting of the load. To preserve cargo and road safety, research is being conducted on the topic of "Load measurements of dropsides to extend current norms and guidelines for commercial vehicles" as part of the "CargoSec" project funded by the BMWK. The aim of the project is to verify whether updates or additions to the norms and guidelines applicable to cargo securing are necessary. These take as a basis necessary acceleration values for the safety requirements for vehicle bodies as well as for the calculation of securing forces. There is reason to believe that significantly higher accelerations are achieved during various driving manoeuvres. Scientific findings regarding the acceleration of commercial vehicles of different vehicle classes with various loads on different road surfaces in different driving manoeuvres were obtained through driving dynamics tests. These are presented and analysed after a description of the various vehicles and trailers and a presentation of the test procedure. Finally, the findings are evaluated with regard to their incorporation into the current norms and guidelines.
