Zusammenfassung

In order to deploy automated driving on European roads creating a safe, inclusive and more sustainable form of mobility still various obstacles need to be overcome.
Besides further development of the driving functions themselves, research efforts also need to be invested to evaluate technical functionality, user acceptance and societal impacts of automated driving. The European project L3Pilot is aimed at expanding knowledge on all of these research areas. During the project a large scale test of automated driving functions on public roads is carried out and data on the automated driving functions and their interaction with the environment is collected. A well elaborated preparation of the data collection and processing as well as an indepth analysis of the gathered data will allow to draw valuable knowledge on the societal impacts of automated driving bridging many of the existing gaps for realising the deployment of automated driving on European roads.
