Zusammenfassung

The increasing variety of functions, the more complex interaction with the vehicle, and new situations such as the take-over request all pose new challenges to vehicle users and can place excessive demands on them.

Thus, the Surf & Curve Project focused on the user's requirements and characteristics within the iterative development of innovative Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) solutions. For the evaluation, scientifically based studies were conducted with
representative user groups in a static driving simulator, in a highly dynamic driving simulator and on a test track to ensure intuitive, clear and safe operation.

The long-term cooperation of BCS Automotive Interface Solutions and fka Forschungsgesellschaft Kraftfahrwesen mbH Aachen and its partner, the Institute for Automotive Engineering RWTH Aachen University (ika), combines the expertise of
BCS in the field of industrialization with the scientific development competence of fka and ika. Later this year, the concepts described here will be integrated into street-legal vehicles for further evaluation and optimization on public roads.
