Zusammenfassung
Brake wear particles are widely acknowledged as a primary contributor to road transportation’s particulate matter emissions, presenting well-established health and environmental concerns. Addressing this issue, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) established the Particle Measurement Program, tasked with devising a standardized sampling and measurement protocol for brake wear particles using a brake dynamometer (dyno). While the brake dyno approach offers commendable reproducibility due to tightly controlled laboratory conditions, the inherent variability in real-world driving conditions necessitates on-road measurements to gain a more comprehensive understanding of actual emission patterns.
