Zusammenfassung

Since the first hybridised Mercedes-Benz models were presented 15 years ago, hybrid technology has made enormous progress. On the one hand, this applies to the increase in performance and efficiency. On the other hand, with the introduction of plug-in hybrid technology in 2014, a further advantage was added that was not possible – or only possible to a very limited extent – with the previously produced mild hybrids: the option of purely electric driving. In the course of continuous further development, significant customer benefits were achieved with regard to electric range, driving comfort and functionality, among other things, which resulted in a rapid increase in acceptance in the market. The consistent expansion of the Mercedes-Benz hybrid portfolio is the reflection of a success story that began with the market launch of the S 400 Hybrid in 2009. Today, the brand with the star offers a fleet of more than 20 different plug-in hybrid models in all relevant market segments - from the compact A-Class to the luxurious S-Class, including nine SUV models in the GLA, GLC and GLE series.
