Zusammenfassung

To meet increasingly strict EU emission legislations, which include WLTC and RDE testing, enhanced NOX aftertreatment strategies for Diesel passenger cars are being introduced in the market. To meet these targets, almost all Diesel vehicles will have an SCR system to achieve very low levels of NOX emission required under various
boundary conditions. To deal with this requirement, HMC and FEV have developed a new system design and software functionality for the precise control of an SCR coated DPF (SDPF) system which is close-coupled within the Diesel engine compartment. This integrated DeNOX system, consisting of a close-coupled NOX
storage catalyst (NSC), an SDPF with upstream AdBlue® injection and an additional underfloor SCR catalyst, was installed in an SUV with a 2.2L Diesel engine. The demonstrator vehicle was then evaluated and validated on the chassis dynamometer in various emission cycles and on public roads using PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement System) to test RDE scenarios.
