Summary

Along with the new trend in vehicle E/E architectures to centralize functions into powerful vehicle computers, the solution space for the next vehicle generations is moving from hardware-centric to software-defined. OEMs increasingly develop their own solutions while several new players are entering the market to deliver into emerging software implementations. This particularly applies for ADAS functions, where codevelopment and system co-integration across the technology stack have become commonplace. But the integration of SW components to build functional chains “from sensors to actuators” is considerably more challenging than just compiling code. This is particularly true for large and distributed ADAS projects where interfaces must be aligned between many stakeholders.
