Summary
Yanmar has developed the new 4.6 L diesel engine 4TN107 that covers up to 155 kW while meeting EU Stage V emission regulations for the off-road machinery.
This engine which has compact Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) device along with two-stage turbocharging achieves class-leading low fuel consumption. Also combustion technology specialized for industrial use with common rail injection system, cooled exhaust gas re-circulation and cutting-edge components lead to life cycle cost reduction with optimized urea consumption. The new combustion chamber was developed and leading-edge components of fuel injection system and friction reduction are adopted for low fuel consumption in a wide range. This engine also achieves class-leading power density of 34 kW/L with the above technology. Cylinder head and cylinder block were designed with high rigidity and cooling water channels are optimized for high reliability to realize the high power density.
