Summary

Volvo Cars is focused on providing sustainable and safe mobility in order to protect society, minimise our environmental footprint and meet growing consumer demand. We will achieve this through our commitment to electrification and autonomous drive. We believe that electrically powered vehicles are the only viable means of delivering energy-efficient transportation on a large scale while minimising carbon emissions.
Volvo Cars is speeding up electrification based on a portfolio of electrified cars across its model range, embracing fully electric cars, plug-in hybrid cars and hybrid cars.
By the middle of the next decade, Volvo Cars expects to generate half of all sales annually from fully electric cars.
The forthcoming next generation of the Scalable Architecture Platform, called SPA2, will deliver our next generation technologies in areas such as electrification, connectivity and autonomous drive.
Volvo Cars’ leadership in safety is a strong foundation to remain in the forefront of autonomous technology development and driver assistance technology. By the middle of next decade, Volvo Cars expects one third of all cars sold to be autonomous driving cars.
