Summary
Daimler AG has recently built a new passenger car proving ground in Immendingen. It was officially opened in September 2018. One of the main goals was the establishment of special testing and evaluation features for the development of electric and
autonomous vehicles. Especially the so-called "Bertha Field" was designed to test autonomous vehicle functions with maneuver speeds of up to 130km/h. In this presentation, the first part focuses on the challenges, the construction and the verification of building this proving ground. The second part discusses the installations and the intended application of the Bertha Field.
