Summary
The Piezo Common Rail System of 2nd generation is in a successful mass production since september 2002. Up to now more than 2.000.000 piezo injectors are manufactured per year and this number will increase substantially. The development of the PCR3 system, the next generation of piezo common rail systems, is focused on the increase of the rail pressure up to 1800 bar (potential for 2000 bar), reduction of injector leckage for improved efficiency, generation of steep injection rates in order to get the best benefit of multi injection strategies, realisation of stable minimum injection quantities associated with a cylinderindividual adaptation of the injected fuel mass in order to ensure the exhaust emission targets over lifetime and an optimized design for injector and high pressure pump. Due to the high flexibility of application parameters and the existing potential the Piezo Common Rail System of 3rd generation has optimum conditions to fulfil future requirements.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
