Summary
Apart from complying with the EuroVI limits it is a major challenge to arrive at a compact, low-cost and robust overall system consisting of the engine and the exhaust gas aftertreatment system. The goal of the examinations, which were carried out at the advanced development department, was to accommodate such a system, comprising an SCR catalytic converter and a particulate filter, in the space available in the MAN TGA silencer for EuroIII, which did not yet contain any equipment for exhaust-gas aftertreatment. This was achieved by several measures: on the one hand the particulate filter was given an SCR-active coating, while on the other the urea decomposition system was realised in the form of a hydrolysis catalyst arranged parallel to the turbocharger and a close coupled NO oxidation catalyst.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
